The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) is a heavy-rail public transit system that connects the San Francisco Peninsula with communities in the East Bay and South Bay. BART provides reliable transportation to downtown offices, shopping centers, tourist attractions, entertainment venues, universities, and other destinations for Bay Area residents and visitors alike.

BART approached TBD* to help design a construction barricade installation that represents San Francisco metaphorically, orients people after being in a state of disorientation due to the pandemic, and welcomes people back to the Bay Area. Our goals were to transport, delight, engage, and surprise all people with colorful and powerful designs.

The ideas and visual designs are inspired by the art trends of San Francisco. The "Have a ___ Day" brings delight, "No Eye in Team" communicates inclusivity, and "Come Rain Come Flowers" represents hope. Additional "little gifts" are added as QR codes, which re-direct viewers to a short animation or a filter.
