Dedicated to furthering social justice, the Queer Cultural Center (QCC) provides a vital platform for LGBTQIA2S+ and QTBIPOC artists in the Bay Area to gather, create, and connect. Despite a rich history of nurturing this community, QCC lacked recognizability and a memorable visual voice.
The solution we proposed to this problem is a dynamic, colorful, and playful identity system designed to bring cohesion to their diverse and varied programs without sacrificing any flexibility. Drawing from the visual metaphor of community quilt-making, the new identity combines a scalable logomark, confident typography and a modular icon pattern to celebrate QCC’s inclusivity, nurturing spirit, and diversity within unity. The system is rigorous yet energetic, ensuring that whether QCC is presenting online or in physical spaces, their brand remains as resilient, visible, and vibrant as the community they serve.
*This identity is only a proposal and was not implemented. their loss! ;—)*
“You got to the core of QCC’s identity. Everything you guys and TBD did was always so professional and it’s been a joy working with you all.”
— Kyle DeVries, Queer Cultural Center
